Very rarely, a decision about a record deal felt so obvious. Or good. Everything started when a five track demo found its way to Playground Music in the Fall of 2008, just marked ”Tutankamon”. It happens a few times a year that a demo makes you hold on, listen and feel the hairs on your arms stand up. And then you can’t resist smiling. “Tutankamon” was such a demo. Right from the first chords of ”Have you ever been in love”, an irresistible urge arised the to play the song over and over again. The other tracks of the demo left no doubts; we wanted to work with that band! And there was something very familiar about those voices… After an email to a strange hotmail address found on the demo, and a band/record company meeting, there were no doubts left whatsoever. The band Tutankamon turned out to be Adam Olenius (vocals, guitar, bass), Peter Morén (vocals, guitar, bass), Daniel Värjö (guitar, bass) and Niklas Korssell (drums). They explained that “the demo” was the result of a short but very intense recording session at the Studio Gröndahl, and it was, in fact, the ready recording. The other half of the album was recorded in a similar manner in February of 2009; like in the good old days, in a real studio, fast and simple. Some of the songs were mixed at Studio Decibel, the band delivered the press photos and the album cover, and then everything was finished.
